Do I need a consultation?

For most treatments, a separate consultation is not necessary, as consultations are conducted at the start of all scheduled appointments. However, we offer a Skincare Consultation as a separate service for those who need more information and discussion prior to treatment.

What is Botox?

Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a purified protein derived from bacteria. It is used in aesthetic medicine to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by muscle contractions.

What is a Botox injector?

A Botox injector is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in administering Botox injections. They possess extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, injection techniques, and the safe and effective use of Botox for cosmetic purposes.

Are Botox injections safe?

Yes, when administered by a trained professional, Botox injections are generally considered safe. In order to prevent side effects it is important that you disclose your medical history and follow your injector's instructions for a safe and successful treatment.

What restrictions or precautions should I be aware of?

  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area: It is important to avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the injected area for at least 24 hours after treatment. This helps prevent the spread of the toxin to unintended muscles.
  • Stay upright: It is advisable to remain in an upright position and avoid lying down for about four hours after the procedure. This precaution helps ensure that the Botox remains localized to the desired treatment area.
  • Refrain from strenuous physical activity: Avoid engaging in vigorous exercise or activities that may increase blood flow to the treated area for the first 24 hours. Excessive movement and sweating may cause the Botox to disperse from the intended site.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol: It is best to avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours after receiving Botox injections. Alcohol can potentially increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.
  • Be cautious with skincare products: Avoid using harsh skincare products, chemical peels, or undergoing facial treatments for a few days after the procedure. It is advisable to consult with your injector nurse Bekki regarding the use of specific skincare products or treatments.
  • Follow post-treatment instructions: Injector Nurse Bekki will provide you with specific post-treatment instructions tailored to your needs. It is important to carefully follow these instructions, including any prescribed medications, to ensure optimal healing and desired results.
Botox | Dysport

What is Dysport?

Dysport is an alternative brand of Botulinum toxin type A, similar to Botox. It is used for the same purpose of reducing wrinkles and fine lines caused by muscle movements.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both neurotoxins that work by relaxing muscles. While they are similar, some patients may find that Dysport takes effect more quickly and diffuses more widely, making it suitable for larger treatment areas. However, the choice between Botox and Dysport is often based on individual preferences and the recommendations of your injector.

Which areas of the body can be injected with Botox or Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. They can also be used to address other areas, such as chin dimples, neck bands, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

How long does it take for Botox or Dysport to take effect?

The onset of Botox and Dysport results can vary slightly. Generally, patients start noticing improvements within 5 to 7 days, with full effects becoming evident within 10 to 14 days. However, individual responses may differ based on factors such as metabolism and muscle activity.

Are there any side effects associated with Botox or Dysport injections?

Botox and Dysport injections are generally well-tolerated, but like any medical treatment, they can have potential side effects. General side effects may include short-term redness, slight swelling, or mild bruising near the places of injection. These effects tend to fade and become non-existant within the following 2-3  days after treatment.

Can I combine Botox or Dysport with other aesthetic treatments?

Yes, Botox and Dysport can be combined with other aesthetic treatments for a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation. They are often used alongside dermal fillers and medical-grade skincare regimens. Bekki Hill can guide you on suitable combinations to achieve your desired outcome.

How long do Botox | Dysport results last?

The effects of Botox and Dysport typically last around 3 to 4 months. However, individual results may vary depending on factors such as metabolism, muscle strength, and the specific area treated.

Dermal Fillers

How do dermal filler injections work?

Dermal fillers work by providing volume beneath the skin's surface, effectively plumping and smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines. These fillers are typically composed of substances like hyaluronic acid, which attract and retain water, enhancing skin hydration and restoring its natural plumpness. By replenishing lost volume, dermal fillers help improve facial contours and restore a more youthful appearance.

How can dermal filler results be optimized and prolonged?

To optimize and prolong the results of dermal fillers, certain measures can be taken. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise, can contribute to overall skin health and longevity of results. Additionally, protecting the skin from excessive sun exposure and adopting a good skincare routine can help preserve the effects of dermal fillers. Regular touch-up treatments, as recommended by your healthcare provider, can also help maintain the desired outcome over time.

Are there any limitations or contraindications for dermal filler treatments?

While dermal fillers are generally safe and well-tolerated, there are some limitations and contraindications to consider. Individuals with known allergies to the components of dermal fillers should avoid treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals are usually advised to postpone dermal filler injections. Furthermore, individuals with active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area may need to wait until the condition resolves. It is crucial to consult with a qualified healthcare provider who can assess your medical history and determine if dermal fillers are suitable for you.

What areas can be treated with dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers can be used to enhance various facial areas, including the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, under-eye hollows, and jawline. They can also be used for non-facial areas like the hands to restore volume.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are considered safe when administered by a qualified and experienced medical professional. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects associated with dermal filler injections. These may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, itching, or lumps at the injection site. It is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with a healthcare provider before undergoing any cosmetic procedure.

How long is the recovery period after dermal filler injections?

The recovery period after dermal filler injections is typically minimal. Most people find they can go back to normal daily routines right after treatment. However, it is common to experience some mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site, which usually subsides within a few days. Following the healthcare provider's post-treatment instructions, such as avoiding excessive sun exposure and refraining from strenuous exercise, can help optimize the healing process.

Can dermal fillers be reversed or dissolved?

Yes, in some cases, dermal fillers can be reversed or dissolved. Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane, can be reversed using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid filler, allowing it to be naturally absorbed by the body. The reversal process is relatively quick, and the effects are seen within a short period of time. However, not all types of fillers can be easily reversed, so it is essential to discuss this option with a qualified healthcare provider before undergoing any treatment.

Sculptra | Radiesse

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a unique type of dermal filler that stimulates collagen production, helping to restore lost facial volume and improve skin texture. It consists of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that gradually replaces lost collagen over time, providing natural-looking and long-lasting results.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a type of dermal filler that consists of a gel carrier containing suspended calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. It is used to restore volume, smoothen wrinkles, and stimulate collagen production. Radiesse offers immediate results and continues to provide a scaffold for collagen growth over time.

Are Sculptra and Radiesse safe?

Sculptra and Radiesse have been approved by regulatory authorities and have a long history of safe use when administered by a trained professional. However, it is essential to disclose your medical history and follow Injector Bekki's recommendations to minimize potential risks and achieve the desired outcomes.

What is the typical treatment process for Sculptra?

The treatment process for Sculptra usually involves a series of injections performed over several sessions. During each session, Bekki will administer Sculptra into the targeted areas of the face. The number of treatment sessions required varies depending on individual needs and desired results. Typically, sessions are scheduled a few weeks apart to allow for proper collagen stimulation and gradual improvement.

What are the potential side effects of Sculptra and Radiesse?

While Sculptra and Radiesse are generally safe when administered by trained professionals, there can be potential side effects. Common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, or mild discomfort at the injection site. These effects typically subside on their own within a few days to a week. It is important to follow post-treatment instructions provided by the healthcare provider to minimize the risk of complications and ensure optimal healing.

Can Sculptra and Radiesse be used on all skin types?

Sculptra and Radiesse are generally safe and effective for use on various skin types. However, it is important to consult with a qualified healthcare provider like Bekki Hill who can assess your specific skin condition and determine the most appropriate treatment approach. She considers factors such as skin tone, texture, and potential risks to ensure that Sculptra or Radiesse is suitable for your unique needs and goals.
